Below are some of the most frequently asked questions about our private boat rides:

How is Tiki Taxi responding to COVID-19?

  • Upon boarding, passengers will be required to sanitize their hands. Passengers are asked to come to our Spadina dock five minutes before their scheduled departure time. If you arrive earlier than five minutes to your departure time, we ask you respect social distancing and take a stroll through the Music Garden, located just beside our dock. What makes a Tiki Tour different from your taxi service?

  • Tiki Tours provide a private boat for you to share with family and/or friends. Your captain will take you around the Toronto Islands for an hour, cruising through the harbour and island lagoons. Tiki Tours are designed for you to spend time on the boat, rather than taking a short trip to travel to the islands.

How much is a Tiki Tour?

  • Daytime tours are $200/hour. Our evening tours are $250/hour. Taxes (HST 13%) will be added to the total when booking.

How long is a Tiki Tour?

  • Tiki Tours are one-hour each. Between each ride, Tiki Taxi staff will disinfect frequently touched areas of each boat.

Will my ride be shared with other groups?

  • You will not be sharing your ride with other groups of friends or families. To minimize contact with others, your private boat ride will be with people you already know.

Where does the tour depart from?

  • Tiki Tours depart from our Lakeshore East location, at 333 Lakeshore Blvd. East. Please see the map for our location.

 

How many people can fit on a boat?

  • We want to make your private Tiki Taxi ride as enjoyable as possible, while also adhering to COVID-19 restrictions. To accomplish this, we will be running at a reduced capacity. Tiki Tours will be limited to five (5) passengers each. If your group is larger than five people and everyone lives in the same household, please email us to arrange for a Family Boat Ride.

Can I bring my bike, stroller, dog, or other personal items?

  • Of course! We allow bikes, strollers, and dogs on our boats. However, to keep you and our staff safe, we are unable to assist in the loading and unloading of personal items. If you are unable to load or unload them yourselves, we ask you either leave them at home, or keep them at our Parliament dock. Our dock staff will look after them, though we are not liable for any loss or damages that may occur while you are on your ride.

What about food and drinks?

  • You can certainly eat and drink on our boats, provided you bring your own nourishments. Please take any garbage you accumulate with you after your ride, and dispose of it on land. Tiki Taxi does not have a liquor licence; alcoholic beverages may not be consumed on the boat.

Can I pay with cash, credit, or debit at the dock?

  • Unfortunately, we are unable to accept cash, credit, or debit at the dock. We ask you book through our website, to maintain your health and safety of you and our staff. To ensure this is an easy process, we are working with Bookeo to provide the smoothest reservation experience.

What happens if it rains?

  • A little rain hasn't stopped Tiki Taxi before, nor should it stop your experience! However, in the rare event that inclement weather makes boating unsafe, we will contact you and arrange an alternate day & time for your voyage.

Can I reschedule my booking?

  • Due to high demand, rescheduling your booking might be difficult (unless it is postponed due to inclement weather). However, we will do everything possible to accommodate your change. Requests to change bookings must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled departure time.
